QUESTIONS
Have a Question? Find Your Answer
Is there enough to do at Forge for a full week?
Absolutely. The estate itself — the lakes, pool, spa, grounds, boating, games, and outdoor spaces — provides a complete holiday without leaving. Many guests spend the majority of their stay on the estate and venture out for just one or two day trips.
Can children enjoy the estate?
Forge is wonderful for children of all ages. The grounds offer enormous freedom to explore, the pool and games room are endlessly popular, and the lakes, boat, and wildlife provide constant fascination. The estate is fenced in its inner area for safety.
What wildlife can we expect to see?
The estate is home to a flock of Muscovy ducks, and the wider grounds support a rich variety of birdlife and woodland animals. Guests are encouraged to observe wildlife from a respectful distance — it is, as we like to say, their home too.
Are guided walks available?
Yes. We are happy to guide guests through the woods and around the estate on request, pointing out the various architectural features, sculptures, and natural highlights along the way.
Is Forge a good base for exploring the wider region?
Forge is an ideal base for the Vienne and surrounding area. Most of the region’s major attractions are within 45 minutes by car, making it perfectly possible to combine estate relaxation with cultural day trips throughout the week.
